burning cooking oilIn this photo, one table spoon of cooking oil was placed in a can and put on a camping stove, and when the oil started burning, water was added.
This demonstrates that it's never a good idea to extinguish burning cooking oil with water. One should instead suffocate the fire by putting a lid on the container if cooking oil starts to burn.Oct 12, 2008

The moon behind some thin clouds.Uncropped 12x zoomed image of the moon. I like the effect of the thin clouds, so I enhanced it a little by increasing gamma slightly. Then resized from 2560x1920 down to 1024x768 (just as most of my images).

70 frames aligned and summed together (first image in sequence, with gamma=2)The first image in the sequence of images aligned and summed. It's a very noisy image, and most stars can't be seen due to the large ammount of noise. This image has it's gamma increased to make the noise visible.
